15. Finding Beauty in Grief and Trauma: The Rose Bush Poem

In this episode, I am sharing a beautiful poem written by my grandmother, Mel Hardy.
The poem was actually written about my Mum after my dad died. My grandma said, she was the rose bush.

The poem is about a rose bush and talks about grief, trauma, and hope.

Over time, this poem has taken on a deeper meaning for me. The poem compares the pruning of a rose bush to the challenges we face in life, explaining how the resilience and growth that come from difficult experiences shapes us.

With sun, rain, and new growth, the rose bush becomes stronger and more beautiful. This poem explains that there is hope and strength on the other side of hardship.
